Is it me, or is this outfit suuuuper reminiscent of MLP as Nancy Botwin in Weeds? The shorts, the loose fitting top — heck, event the side pony tail — are oddly conjuring up images of Nancy in my mind... And for the record, completely unintentional (despite the fact that I'm currently rewatching the series on Netflix). The subconscious mind, am I right?

Although not normally my jam, I'm totally feeling pink and in a big way... Believe me, no one's more surprised than me. I don't know what it is, but all shades of this girlie-toned spectrum are now on the table and I'm not even mad. Seriously though, everything from the vibrant hue of this maxi dress, down to the perfectly pale pink of my new Olive + Piper necklace is now in heavy rotation, and I'm hooked... I guess I owe my pal Kastles — the eternal pink-lover — an apology.

With the weather heating up (and let's not forget my overall disdain for being too warm), dressing has proven particularly challenging as of late. Seriously though, I don't know what to wear to work let alone in public when temperatures spike, which is problematic not only as a fashion blogger, but as a fellow human being who, you know, cares about norms and conventions and whatnot. Exhausting. That's why I was ecstatic when things cooled down juuuust enough for the ol' pants to come out, which — let's face it — are my sartorial happy place... Now let's just hope that Mother Nature reads my blog and decides to cut me some slack over the next two months.

Well it's my last day in Victoria (sniff sniff), and as you read this, Meows, Mr. AiF and I are probably en route to Vancouver for the last couple days of our vacay... Normally not a fan of Mondays, this one in particular is shaping up to be awesome because: 1. I'm in my hometown of Victoria this week (woot!) 2. It's my birthday today! and 3. I got some sweet new shoes from Sole Society! I don't think I've ever had a Monday that called for so many exclamation points! Anyways, highlights of said awesome Monday will include spending time with my parents, gallivanting with Mr. AiF and hitting up a 90's dance party with friends... I could get used to this. xx

Sometimes the stars align and the photo gods smile down on me... And other times it just rains. But this time — joy of joys! — was of the stars-aligning variety, because my pal Brittney and I stumbled on this adorable amusement park while visiting a small town for work. It was still being set up at the time, but the super nice staff gave us free-range of the park, which we pretty much ran around like school girls until we were too hungry to keep going... And believe me when I tell you that no one likes "hangry" Vickie.

I'm sorry, but can we just talk about the whole lip motif that's going on this season? I don't know what it is about this retro-inspired, mouth-agape print, but I'm digging it and in a big way. Seems like everywhere I turn there's a big scarlet pout (checkout homegirls Kastles and Krystin for some serious styling inspo!), so don't be surprised if I suddenly start marking all my clothes and clutches with kiss marks or something...
