Fall is my favourite shopping season (if you couldn't already tell), so updating my shoe arsenal with ankle boots and fall-fresh flats is always a must. There's just something about a new pair of shoes that makes your wardrobe feel so invigorated, no? Sometimes the best things in life are the simplest, but if you ask me, it's usually the simple things that could use the most jazzing up... Like this Zara sweatshirt, for instance. It's totally cute and wearable, but without those floral, beaded embellishments? Maaaajor snoozeville. It's amazing what a little detailing can do to elevate such a basic, nondescript item into a thing of beauty... DIY'ers of the world take note.

Happy Easter, friendlies! Whether you're of the religious persuasion or not, I hope your weekend has been long and chocolate-filled... I know mine has. This blouse was an impulse purchase last weekend (along with these pants) that's somehow turned into the greatest decision of all time, style-wise. I mean seriously, not only was it super affordable (it's F21 for crying out loud!) but the alternating stripes, vibrant hue and tie-up detail has my heart all aflutter... I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Now I know this is nothing new to many of you — and probably a source of contention to many more of you — but I am now officially on board the Canadian tuxedo express. Sometimes less is more, or at least that's what I like tell myself when I can't be bothered to do more than throw on a slouchy sweater over some skinnies... Hey, we're all friends here right? It's truth circle time. Notice the studded pumps and rhinestone necklace? That's how I cunningly convince the world that I care about my appearance when deep down all I want to do is curl up on the couch with my pajamas and a carton of ice cream. Well, at least the ice cream part is socially acceptable, right?

Sheer boredom, coupled with my love of online shopping, led to a little splurge-fest recently... And since I worked from home yesterday, I was around when Mr. Postman came by to deliver the goods. No, not like that pervs, I'm talking about this adorable bag and these hot heels! Now truth be told, my dream animal-embossed bag is a little more Burberry than ASOS, but hey, I do what I can. And how cute are these ShoeMint pumps? My feet are officially ready to parrrtay.

I blame this outfit on Pinterest... Why you might ask? Because my impressionable mind saw a pic of a girl wearing a varsity jacket and decided right then and there that I needed one too. Yup, that's how my mind works, ladies and gentlemen. The crazy part is I never even liked them before let alone did I want one. They always seemed so high school to me, conjuring up images of Buffy the Vampire Slayer traipsing around graveyards in an oversized jacket and pink spandex... Hot.
