Wardrobe Wednesday // Instagram Edition

I love shopping as much as the next girl, but I've been trying to cutback a bit this month as a bit of a personal challenge... Now I know you must be thinking 'Wow, she must really hate herself,' but I assure you, I do not... I just wanted to try my hand at reducing my clothing consumption while making more out of what I already have. And although I've picked up a couple things here and there (see my Forever 21 jewelry haul above!), it feels pretty darn good saving money for a change... Go figure.

So for this week's Wardrobe Wednesday I thought it best to focus on some cherished accessories and my new favourite store, with only minimal attention paid (no pun!) to new purchases... I must be turning a new leaf or something! xx

Light as a Feather...

Question: Did you guys ever play 'light as a feather, stiff as a board' when you were kids? I guess the feather print on this Forever 21 dress reminded me of those early days on the playground, where we hopelessly willed ourselves to float in thin air between breaks from the monkey bars or daisy chain-making... Oh, the good old days. Well needless to say, it didn't really happened for us — I guess eight-year-old Vickie's levitating skills never quite kicked in... At least I'll always have this feather dress though, right?

Wardrobe Wednesday...

Now that the snow has melted, my feet feel anew with all the footwear options at their disposal... Oxfords? Of course! Slingbacks? Sure! Peep toes? Why not! And as far as material is concerned, canvas is leading the charge to my feet's heart — so to speak. That's why I couldn't resist these polka dot lovelies at Forever 21 last week. They're cute, comfy and seasonally appropriate... And even though they ever so slightly resemble clown bowling shoes, my feet and I are seriously smitten. xx

Mall Rats...

Having had the day off yesterday, I decided to go on a lovely shopping/coffee date with a new friend...  We enjoyed sinfully tasty treats (you're the worst, Starbucks!) and took a quick boo around the mall, which resulted in me buying a pair of mint jeans at Zara (finally!) and my first-ever Pandora bracelet, sans charms... Hey, one step at a time, right?

Writer's Block...

When Jenna and I stumbled across this awesome graffiti wall during WCFW last week, we instantly knew it would make the perfect backdrop for photos. You know me and graffiti, and luckily my homegirl felt the same... Can you say photo op?

And in other news, I had a couple deadlines that week that I was seriously stressing over, and I think the wall sensed it —check out the "writer's block"graff in the first photo! Too funny...

Fall-tastic...

If you're anything like me, you like to get the most possible mileage out of your clothes... Call me crazy, but I see no reason not to don a summery little floral number in mid October! Especially when such marvels as cardigans and tights are available to transition a piece from one season to the next. Just saying.

Wardrobe Wednesday...

Hello lovelies! Now I know I briefly showed you these bad boys when I first got them, but what with all that wretched snow finally behind us and that glorious sun a shining, I figured they were due for a proper spotlight...

I fell in love with the idea of patent pink oxfords the moment I saw them at UO-- they made me instantly think of Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo! Maaaaajor stydols (get it? Style-Idols!) in my books... But it was probably the price tag that sold me on them-- On sale for only $13.99! I've spent more than that on coffee at Starbucks! *sigh*

I'm so excited to finally wear these little lovelies, and to share them with you guys via outfit posts... I even made a teensy little video of them for good measure-- nothing special, just a silly little stop motion for funsies! I hope you like it! xx
