Native Heart Shorts & Giveaway!

The amazingly rad people at Native Heart sent me a pair of their custom-made vintage shorts to try out, and I couldn't be more excited! Let me start by stating the obvious: micro shorts aren't exactly part my sartorial repertoire (I'm shy!), but I decided to take this opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. I know, what a concept, right? Anyway, I'm so glad that I did because not only are these shorts super badass, but they're totally unique... You see, when you buy from Native Heart, you actually get to specify how you want the shorts to look. Rips? Studs? Ombre wash? No problem! The good people at NH have you covered. Not a bad deal, huh?

Peach Paradise...

Hi friends! Did everyone have a nice weekend? I spent the majority of mine painting/redecorating, and even though I was a sweaty, paint-covered mess for longer than I care to admit, it was totally worth it... SO. MUCH. BETTER!

Anyway, these photos were taken on Friday night (or 'date night,' if you will) while Mr. AIF and I enjoyed tasty seafood on the doc and a lovely stroll around the harbour. I decided to wear a newly-thrifted skirt (it's silk!) with my H&M bird top that never seems to get any play... It seemed like a totally good idea at the time, but let me tell you something: uber saucy food and light coloured silk DO NOT mix. Evidently my twenty-some years were not enough to impart such wisdom on me - I had to go and learn it the hard way. Typical.

The Weekenders...

Hi lovelies! How is everyone on this beautiful Saturday morning?

Speaking of beautiful Saturday mornings, these pics were taken last Saturday during a coffee date with the lovely Natalie of I Heart This Blog. We congregated at our favourite coffee shop (oh who am I kidding, it was Starbucks!) and perched ourselves by the window, ready for girl talk and people watching galore... Fun!

Afterward we snapped some pics (because what's a bloggy date without pictures, am I right?) and shared some laughs over our awkwardness (group pictures are harder than they look!). All in all, a fun-filled morning ;)

Into the Meadow...

These photos were taken spur of the moment while strolling through the park... I wasn't necessarily prepared for them, but we were so taken by the lovely scenery that we really couldn't resist. Doesn't it just look like the dreamiest autumn backdrop? Not that I'm complaining about all the lovely weather we've finally been having, but all that golden grass made me yearn for the days of warm layers, deep hues and textured tights... Does that make me sound crazy? Maybe. But the grass is always greener on the other side.

Water Baby...

I'm all about the maxis these days... Can you tell? I love their versatility and how truly wearable they are. Plus I don't have to worry about my pasty legs frightening children; it's a win-win.

Wardrobe Wednesday...

When I saw these sandals at Winners last weekend, I instantly knew I had to have them... First of all, I really liked the design (toga party anyone?) as well as the material - they're jellies! How awesome is that? And as you can imagine, a total throwback to my childhood ;)

Finally, these bad boys are surprisingly comfy and, here's the clincher, super cheap! At a whopping $25, how could I resist? *sigh*
