When temperatures drop, I like to add bright layers and beautiful accessories to the mix to dull the pain of yet another winter. It's no secret that sweatshirts have become my go -to this season — in fact, they've creeped up in outfit posts at a rate that would have alarmed 2010 Vickie. That's right my friends, only a few short years ago I would have turned my nose up at such items, scoffing at the very idea that sweatshirts could even remotely be a thing... Boy was past Vickie wrong! Now my collection seems to be growing by the day (don't worry Mr. AiF, it's just a figure of speech), so I figured I would show you all my current faves, plus a few that I have my eye on... Sales Wish List

Hello! I thought I'd do a 'pick of the sales' type of post to show you what I've found whilst browsing countless sales online recently. I keep seeing so many bargains dotted around but I've had to keep my money in my purse unfortunately (actually rather difficult to do), to ensure I have enough money for my holiday to Spain (only 19 days to go - whoop! whoop!). I was pleasantly surprised by the Nasty Gal sale (I'm sure every blogger knows how great these clothes are, no need to explain) and almost decided to buy something until I realised postage was at least £10. I've only just realised I've left out Zara in my round up (oops), which just happens to be one of the most talked about sales around (I really should take note of things more often).

{Style} Abandoned...

Road trips seem to always be ripe with abandoned-old-building-sightings, which are like catnip for fashion bloggers. That's why I forced Mr. AiF to make a pit stop in a tiny little town to snap pics in front of an old automotive shop. I mean seriously, peeling paint, dirty windows and creepy remnants of it's past life scattered about always makes for a killer backdrop, if not only in my head. But then again lots of things seem better in my head, like fondue or the pleather-pant incident of 2001.

{Style} Patchwork...

I've been on a bit of a shopping kick lately (I'm thinking May is gonna have to be another shopping ban month), including a mini online tryst with ASOS. Nothing too crazy, but let's just say that my virtual cart ranneth over with a striped skirt (stay tuned!) and this totally awesome blazer. I don't know if it's the vibrant colours or the in-your-face print, but I'm in love with this blazer and in a big way... And now for the credit card payments.

{Style} Leather Detailing...

Faux leather is totally my jam, so any opportunity to double up — say in a nice shorts/blazer combo — is fine by me. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but it's just, well, the greatest. The best part? This whole leather detailing trend makes doubling up more subtle/chic, less Peg Bundy... And I think we can all agree that that's a good thing. xx

I'm pretty sure that when Lionel Ritchie sang about "Endless Love," he was actually talking about coffee... That's all I can say about that. In other news, how sweet is my new spiked necklace from Barefoot Contessa? I picked it up while in Vancouver over the holidays on a shopping date with Mr. AiF's lovely mom (hi Hilly!) and have pretty much worn it ad nauseum ever since. What can I say, it was love at first sight.

Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm beat from yesterday's festivities... My family knows how to get down, so we didn't get to bed until 2 am last night — Can you say party animal wannabes? I think I'll be paying the price in the under eye region today as I travel to Vancouver to see Mr. AiF's fam-jam... What can I say, it was worth it.

In the dead of winter, a little floral print can do wonders for morale...  Take it from me, with over a month of snow under my belt, nothing cheers me up quite like some peppy pants. Can we just take a moment to talk about this skirt? I bought it at The Pretty Secrets popup shop a couple weeks ago and have been obsessed with it every since. I mean come on, it's gold, pleated and all kinds of awesome, am I right? Plus it's vintage Smart Set, which totally appeals to the 13-year-old 90s child inside... Hashtag sigh.
