I was lucky enough to be included in FASHION Magazine's winter issue, sporting my take on holiday-wear with this flirty Loft 82 dress. To be honest, I would gladly take shimmering gold fabrics, patent heels and pretty pearls any day of the week, but during the holiday season they feel all the more alluring... Kind of like crushed velvet and eggnog, but I digress.

A BIG thank you to the magazine for including me (my mom is ecstaaaatic), and be sure to check out the issue in stores now! Page 216 — errr, what? Who said that? xx

{Homemade Holiday} Rosette Ring DIY

 photo IMG_9136copy_zpsbebffa7a.jpg
In the spirit of last week's animal ring holder, I thought I would put together an simple gift idea to accompany it — et voila! The rosette ring was born. It's the perfect little add-on to give a girlfriend or pop into a stocking, and it even functions as a last-minute gift if you're in a pinch (oh who am I kidding, when you're in a pinch). So if you want to make a rosette ring of your own, here's what you'll need:

Supplies:
 - Adjustable rings (available at any craft or jewelry supply store)
 - Rosette cabochons (mine are vintage, but there are lots to choose from on Etsy!)
 - Jewelry glue

Topshop Xmas Wish List

I wanted to create my own version of the blogger Christmas wish list (only 5 weeks left!). I decided to keep mine to just Topshop as there are so many nice things in the shops at the moment that it would be so hard to narrow down (I had difficulty narrowing down only these items!).

What do you want this Christmas? Which are your favourite pieces here?

{Homemade Holiday} Animal Ring Holder DIY

 photo AnimalRingHolderGiftDIY_zps945df5cb.jpg
The holidays have a remarkable way of sneaking up on me each year, and all those lofty goals of baking, crafting and general merry-making often go unactualized. That's why I thought it would be fun (and mutually beneficial for readers like me!) to launch a homemade holiday series consisting of a DIY gift idea each week to get your yule-tide juices flowing (so to speak). First up? The Animal ring holder.

 photo AnimalRingHolderDIY_zpsbe85c352.jpg
I love giving loved ones jewelry, but it never dawned on me before that a playful jewelry holder could be just the ticket to up the ante when gifting baubles. So off to the dollar store I went to pick up some plastic animals to make this simple, yet impactful gift idea.

Simply spray paint your animal any colour you wish, and adhere it to a pretty plate (mine came from Home Sense) using powerful glue... It's as easy as that! Top things off with a pretty ring or some sparkly earrings, and your friends are sure to love you all the more this holiday season! photo IMG_8546copy_zps8c7dc067.jpg
I hope you enjoyed this new DIY series — stay tuned for more fun projects in the weeks to come! xx

{Christmas Week} Spots & Dots...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Leopard print might not exactly come to mind when one considers holiday prints (with plaid, argyle, heck, even polka dots seeming more appropriate), but for whatever reason, I'm loving it for Christmas Week. Paired with oxblood and some faux fur — not to mention a festive church backdrop — I'm holiday-ready... Four more sleeps!

{Christmas Week} Seeing Red...

I don't know what it is about this time of year, but I always seem to revert back to eight-year-old Vickie in both mind and dress. Alarming maybe, but let's just chalk it up to the holiday season. Take this outfit for instance; I'm pretty sure I look like a kid who's watched too much Madeline, am I right? The barrett and school girl-inspired gettup aren't helping matters, but what can I say, these things happen. Now all I need is hot cocoa and day 19 of my chocolate advent calendar, and I'm good to go.

PS- Notice the atypical laughing photo at the end? That's because some random dude decided to photo-bomb me... How could I not include that?

{Christmas Week} Plaid Details...

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

For most of us, the holidays come complete with a chill in the air and that pesky Jack Frost incessantly nipping at your nose... Soooo not sexy. Thankfully the winter gods throw us a bone every now and again, allowing for cold weather accessories that — joy of joys — actually look cute! What a concept.

These Quill & Tine driving gloves are by far my favourite new winter discovery, as their luxe materials (wool, lambskin and cashmere lining, what!) and dreamy print (because really, what's Christmas without a little plaid?) look damn good as they shield my delicate digits from the elements. The best part? They seem to like my smart phone as much as I do — a glove rarity, to be sure. Let's just say my phone and I are very, very pleased.

{Christmas Week} Merry Making...

Ho-ho-how excited are you guys for another theme week?! Can you guess what it is? Well if the presents, baubles and gigantic bows didn't give it away (or, let's face it, the title of this post), let me help you out— it's Christmas week, y'all!

To kick things off, my homegirl Kastles and I wanted to spread some yuletide cheer with a festive little shoot... And although we froze our buns off and dealt with many a strange look along the way (two dudes actually stopped to laugh and take pics of us), it was totally worth it. Hey, they don't call it the most wonderful time of the year for nothing! xx

On Kastles: plaid shirt- Joe Fresh; dress- Jason Wu for Target; necklace- Anthropologie; polka dot tights- J.Crew; pumps- H&M; bow- made by Kassie // On me: plaid dress- The Pretty Secrets; polka dot tights- Forever 21; booties- Aldo; bow- made by Kassie

Wardrobe Wednesday...

Photobucket

One thing that I really wanted for Christmas this year was a leopard print Wilfred scarf... It's one of those things that I've meant to buy for years (no exaggeration!) but somehow never did. Well it's a good thing Mr. AIF reads my blog, because he got me one this Christmas! *happy dance*

What was your favourite gift this year? I wanna know! xx
