{DIY} Printed Pumps...

 photo shoediy2copy_zps5c820df8.jpg

I've had the idea to Modpodge my pumps into something new and slightly more interesting for weeks now (since I fell in love with these badboys) but I just couldn't get it together until now... Well I'm going to go ahead and say that it was worth the wait, because not only am I in love with the patterned paper I scored after weeks of searching, but both the shoes AND the paper ended up going on sale by the time I came around to buying them! Cha-ching! So for a modest $22, I have a pair of shoes that I'm actually excited to wear... I believe that's what they call a win-win, no?

Here's what you'll need for this DIY:

  • Shoes
  • Modpodge
  • Patterned paper
  • Paint brush
  • Scissors
  • Time, patience + fresh air

This one is suuuuper easy, it's just a little tedious and time consuming.  As you know from previous Modpodge DIYs, simply cut strips of paper to have on hand (by the end I was just tearing pieces at random) and apply a layer of Modpodge onto the surface of the shoe. Once that's done, press the paper firmly over the glue and hold to adhere to the shoe. Seal the paper in place with another coat of glue, covering the entire shoe in this way. Let dry overnight to set everything in place, and you're done! Headrush and all.

Orange You Glad It's Spring

Happy Monday!  I hope that you all had a great weekend and Mother's Day!  I wore this outfit on Saturday to dinner and the movies with two of my blogger loves Daniela and Nadia.  We had so much fun and I tried Venezuelan food for the first time :)  I ended up shooting this yesterday and it was so beautiful out!  My mom and I got a little camera happy because we loved the location and lighting :)

My love for moto jackets is now equal to my love for blazers.  They're just the perfect pieces for layering and are extremely versatile.  I fell in love with this orange one (fab color) and I also did outfit pics with it in Chicago (pics coming soon) so you will see another way that I styled it.  I have been gravitating more towards colored and printed denim because I just think they make any outfit stand out.  You can have so much fun styling them up too.  I got two of my favorite things in one with these jeans: floral print and distressed denim.  The rips are kind of subtle but they add just the right amount of edginess.  You will probably see me wearing these sandals a lot during the summer so I am warning you now :) I am hoping to get them in black too.  I added this statement necklace for a little POP and this white studded bag is now one of my favorites.

I have my first shoot from Chicago coming tomorrow and I am really excited to share the photos with you!  They're more on the artsy/creative side than my regular outfit shoots which I love.  It's always good to switch it up and show different sides.  Have a great day!

Sometimes nothing beats a simple print, and this geometric pattern had me at first glance... Not to mention the asymmetrical hem, which I always seem to gravitate towards. All in all, this dress has all the makings for a summertime staple, and I couldn't love it more... Bring it on, summer!

Happy Monday, lovelies! xx
